Singapore International Photography Festival

The SIPF is a worldwide biennial gathering of minds commonly pursuing the advancement and appreciation of photography. An arena for critical thought and academic discussion on photography in Southeast Asia, the festival also functions as a platform to nurture and propel photographers onto the international stage.

Extension of Open Call to 11th April

Since the start of the Open Call, the 2nd Singapore International Photography Festival 2010 (SIPF) has received a total of 4,148 submissions from 46 countries.

The SIPF has been informed of the problems encountered by participants from non-English speaking countries, and issues arising from credit card payments due to different policies in various countries. There are urgent requests for assistance from more than 100 participants who are unable to proceed with the online submission. In view of this situation, the SIPF will extend its Open Call till Sunday 11 April 2010, to resolve these problems and to assist participants to fill in necessary details. Please email info@sipf.sg if you need assistance with the online submission.

The open call seeks submission in two categories.

The first category continues with the tradition of being ‘theme-less’ with the sole purpose of ascertaining original, contemporary works and talented individuals. For the second category, the festival invites and encourages distinctive artistic interpretations of the theme, Human: Nature. The duality in this theme can be freely interpreted either as ‘Human Nature’ or ‘Human & Nature’. The ‘colon’ represents a relationship and a balanced ratio between Human and Nature. The theme seeks to address universal concerns faced by our world.
