This series is a genuine attempt to understand the trauma in which prisoners-of-war have experienced during genocides of the past and in wars of contemporary times. Michael Shaoawanasai engages the participation of his audience by inviting them to step into the shoes of the victims. In recreating the images of war, he also deliberately raises awareness of the past’s atrocities.
