Beijing Olympic Stadium is coined as the Birdnest, because the architecture resembles a bird’s nest. Since 2005 Yu has been documenting the entire plan and construction of the stadium. Besides the grand magnitude of a stadium built for 91,000 people, his works took on the perspective of the workers who have toiled and lived at the construction site to complete the stadium in time for the Olympic Games in August 2008.
