Makoto Oono (b. 1979, Chiba, Japan), currently based in Tokyo, was the winner of the 2016 JAPAN PHOTO AWARD. He was a graduate of Nihon University’s Department of Photography in 2002 and has staged solo shows in Japan and Taiwan and participated in international showcases such as Belo Horizonte’s International Festival of Photography in Brazil and Barcelona International Art Fair in Spain. 

His publications have been presented at renowned art book fairs such as Off Print London at Tate Modern, Britain, and the New York Art Book Fair at MOMA PS1. “Separate Hidden Rules” was remade into an art photography book titled “Still Life” published by SamePaper in 2020.
