Wang Shuman (b. 1993, Nanjing) holds a master’s degree in Art Curating from the Department of Art History and Film Studies at the University of Sydney. Currently based in Hong Kong, Wang has served as an associate curator at Tai Kwun. From 2017 to 2023, she oversaw the planning and implementation of all exhibitions at OCAT Shanghai, including some of her own curation.
Since the start of her career, her writing and curation have been especially focused on video and media art. She has published articles in journals and magazines such as Artforum, LEAP, The Art Newspaper, and The Thinker Weekly. Wang received the Curatorial Award for Photography and Moving Image in 2022. She was a finalist for The Hyundai Blue Prize Art + Tech in 2021 and the National Support Program for Emerging Curators in Art Museums in 2020. In 2023, she was granted support by Pro Helvetia and Jimei x Arles, enabling her to travel to Switzerland and France (Arles and Paris) to advance her research projects.
