Min Ma Maing (She/Her) is a personal documentary photographer from Myanmar, who was based in Yangon till June 2021. Starting out as a press photographer, she realised that she would prefer investing more time in her stories. She then focus only on long form of personal documentary stories and she is also interested in making photobooks as art objects and another layer of story telling apart from image making.
Her works have been exhibited internationally such as Photoville, NYC, Singapore International Photo Festival as well as have been published in prestigious media outlet such as New Yorker, National Geographic etc.
She has adopted the temporary pseudonym Min Ma Naing because of the political situation in Myanmar. It means The King Cannot Beat You. She has been working on stories related with Burmese diaspora, collective and personal trauma and memories related with aftermath of Military coup in Myanmar.
