In this series, Hashim’s photographs explore the human state of mind and emotions based on the concept of ‘Displacement’. His models were shot crying in a studio-based set up, which was completely displaced from their personal contextual settings and influences. His intention is to evoke a sense of displacement, bewilderment and curiosity among his audience as they question the reason and authenticity for their tears, anguish and melancholy.
