At JZZP, we are committed to building a platform that supports independent Chinese artists in freely expressing their art-related ideas. In addition to photobooks and artists’ books, we have recently introduced a new line of text-based publications that reflect our interest in the intersection of image and reality—particularly as it relates to the social, cultural, and political dynamics within China.
Our practice extends beyond publishing. Through JZZP’s physical space in Ningbo, we curate a range of research-based, community-oriented cultural events and exhibitions featuring books and ongoing projects. These efforts are designed to foster dialogue and build a supportive network among creators, local communities, and broader audiences.
Since our founding in 2011, JZZP has published over 60 titles, with international distribution in more than 50 countries. We have actively participated in major art book fairs worldwide, and our publications have been recognized by institutions such as the Aperture PhotoBook Awards, Les Rencontres d’Arles Book Awards, and the Kassel PhotoBook Award. What distinguishes our practice is a sustained commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices and documenting the complex realities of contemporary China through independent publishing.
