Virginia Morini (2000) works and experiments in visual arts. She explores the surreal that lays behind our reality through a documentary approach. Her research revolves around secrecy, sexuality, coming of age, trauma and religion.

After she graduated from the Magnum Photos & Spéos Master in Creative Documentary in Paris, she assisted Magnum Photos photographer Lorenzo Meloni. Since 2023 she has been working retracing sexual child abuse through Europe and the US. She is now focusing on developing a new body of work exploring the fragile boundary between girlhood and imposed womanhood in parts of Southeast Asia.

Her work has been internationally selected and showcased by several festivals and institutions including Fotografia Europea – Speciale 1825, Premio Mila – Fondo Malerba at Careof Milan, Mesnographies 2026, 3Fest Caen, Encontros da Imagem Braga, and the Hamburg Portfolio Review.
