This book collects the residency records of the artists’ Zuoying Project from 2011 to 2016. Zuoying military dependents’ village, located in the tropics, transformed from a densely populated area to a ghost town, eventually facing demolition. Through written notes and visual records, the artists showcase their experimental approach to the representation and the heterogeneous field experiences touched upon in the wasteland.

Artist Biography:

Lu Yi-Lun’s creative medium primarily revolves around photography, exploring the extended meanings between images and objects, allowing photography to serve as a method of reproduction after thought and dialectics. His works often delve into socially significant geographical spaces, bringing to light overlooked or obscured landscapes and meanings.

Lin Yi Chi regards images as a medium for spiritual summoning, deconstructing marginal histories, and recomposing them into forms that transcend reality. This process re-enchants and regenerates national, historical, and familial memories. Her work spans video, experimental film, and new media performance.
