Park Cheol-kyu (b. 1983) graduated from the Department of Photography at
Baekjae University of the Arts. While balancing his work, he has continuously
moved between streets and on-site locations, paying close attention to the scenes
before his eyes. Currently, he focuses on documenting the changes in his
neighborhood in the old downtown area of Seongnam and the lives of its residents
through his camera.

He views photography not merely as a means of record, but as a point of
intersection where time and relationships converge. Through the accumulation of
images, he gradually constructs a narrative, continuing to develop his body of
work over time.

In 2019, he participated in the exhibition “Experimental Ranch – Tapdong Citizen Farm.” In 2022, he contributed to the publication and exhibition of the photobook “Village Outside the Fortress.” In May of the same year, he held a two-person exhibition with his mother titled “Mother and Son Photography Exhibition.” In 2023, he took part in the publication of the photobook series Re.See.Pic, No.14 and No.15. In 2024, he participated in the group exhibition “Priming the Vision” as part of 100 People, 100 Colors at an art gallery in Jeonju. He was also selected for the Photo of the Year category by Sisain in 2024.
