Odd/Even brings together 10 photographers responding to the Lorongs of Geylang, a neighbourhood historically organised by odd- and even-numbered street lanes.
Over two months, each photographer develops a body of work that extends Geylang beyond stereotypical narratives and visualises its multiplicity. From clan associations and religious sites to the accumulated stories of immigrants navigating transient and permanent ground, the numbered Lorongs of Geylang quietly denote different typologies of people and activity. Odd/Even spotlights Geylang beyond its index, showing how the neighbourhood has thrived on integration and co-existence.
