The third in a series of guided exhibition walkthroughs on Shifting Images, join artists Alecia Neo, Noor Iskandar, and Mintio at STORIES Joo Chiat for an intimate conversation about their works in The Stories We Carry, exploring how memory, a living and continuously evolving process, intersects with photography. The session delves into how practitioners have employed the medium as an extension that reaches past the archive to become an act of care–holding grief, recovering histories, sustaining relationships and carrying stories across generations.
About Shifting Images
Shifting Images is a series of exhibitions exploring the diversity and evolution of photographic practices in Singapore, presented as part of the 10th celebratory edition of the Singapore International Photography Festival. Across eight exhibitions, it takes a reflective look at the nation’s photographic culture, bringing together different generations of artists and approaches to photography to consider how the medium has developed, expanded, and responded to changing social, cultural, and technological contexts.
Images used above are taken from the 9th SIPF Open Call Portfolio Showcase.
