A photography collection about the democratic movements and street uprisings that showcased the people’s power in Taiwan before and after the lifting of martial law in the 1980s. The “fighters” on the streets are mostly ordinary people like you and me, weaving a grand performance named Taiwan’s democracy and freedom with laughter, tears, and sweat. The book brings to life the faces of the protagonists in this street theater through the lens.
