Science pursues knowledge, but consequent results can be unpredictable, as German photographer Jens Sundheim suggests. Depending on your point of view, you can call the results of research dubious, worrying, promising or illuminating. They can enrich understanding, cure diseases and make life easier, but can also help destroy mankind. In this series, Sundheim recorded this complexity at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, using his camera as a scientific instrument to discover the visual traces of scientific research.
