Sunny Strader is a lens-based artist whose work is an exploration of dreams, spirituality, and the millennial condition. Born in Danville, Illinois, she now lives and works in Los Angeles.
Her work has been exhibited in group shows, including at the Contemporary Calgary, Canada; Houston Center for Photography; and House of Lucie, Los Angeles. She has had solo shows at the Danville Art League, Illinois; Hot Shot Muffler Garage, Los Angeles; and currently at the Museum Nord, Sortland, Norway.
Interviews with Sunny have appeared in Strange Fire Collective, LenSCRATCH, and Aint-Bad. Awards include the Magenta Flash Forward prize, Lucie Photo Book Finalist, and a spot on ARTPIL’s 30 Under 30 Women Photographers.
In the Fall of 2020 she will publish her long-term project, 5th Grade Dreams, with NPR. The project highlights the adult lives of her fifth-grade classmates.
