Jan von Holleben (b.1977) grew up in the southern German countryside. His photographic works are strongly influenced by his parents, a cinematographer and child therapist. His bodies of work focus on the ‘homo ludens’ – the man who learns through play. This builds from a playful integration of pedagogical theory with his own personal experiences of play and memories of childhood. Holleben’s works are exhibited internationally and published widely throughout the world.
