Min Ma Naing (Myanmar) is a documentary photographer based in Yangon till June 2021. Starting out as a press photographer, she has since transitioned to working on long form personal documentary stories and crafting photo books as alternative means of storytelling. She is concerned with issues related to the Burmese diaspora, collective and personal trauma and memories associated with the aftermath of Myanmar’s military coup. “Min Ma Naing”, which means “The King Cannot Beat You”, is a temporary pseudonym adopted by her because of the political situation in Myanmar.
