The book presents an outcome of a photographic study. The conducted observations of substances changing their physical state, shape and temperature, as well as experiments featuring such substances, resulted in images that challenge the unambiguous and material nature of the presented entities.

The object of the search: the black referred to in the title turned out to be more than a consequence of lack of light. It appeared in a substantial, meaningful, material way – undetermined, creative, defiant, incompehensible.
