In a certain internet cafe in Taichung, most of the patrons are not students but middle-aged and elderly people. Among them are manual laborers, sex workers, the homeless, or those who make a living by resource recycling. Under the tables, dried semen can be found, and it’s not uncommon to see someone defecating in the stairwell. Here, morality and etiquette are only selectively observed. A photographer working at the internet cafe found himself deeply captivated by the diverse characters who frequented the space, capturing this overlooked corner of society.
