This seminar-workshop opens with ghost stories and superstitions as starting points, asking what photographic and critical vocabulary the region already possesses but rarely uses. Rather than a lecture, this is a collaborative working session: participants work together to identify words untranslatable within Southeast Asian visual culture, testing how their untranslatability itself becomes a mode of knowledge-making, refusal, and resistance. Drawing on the facilitator’s research into spectral methodologies and paracuratorial practice, the session builds a working, collective glossary rather than delivering fixed content.
