Archives preserve histories, but they also contain silences, omissions and traces of the systems that created them.

After the Archive brings together Elizabeth Gabrielle Lee, Green Zeng, Marvin Tang and Sean Cham to reconsider how histories are recorded, constructed and remembered. Moving across colonial photography, botanical histories, environmental traces, political memory and imagined narratives, the artists look beyond official records to surface what has been overlooked, obscured or left unresolved.

From the legacies of colonial extraction and representations of the Chinese diaspora to an imagined exile returning to a transformed Singapore, the exhibition moves between evidence and speculation, document and fiction.

After the Archive reveals photography as a powerful means of revisiting inherited narratives and opening the past to new interpretations in the present.
