Join curators Marvin Tang and Liana Yang for a relaxed afternoon conversation about the role of photobooks in Singapore. Moderated by SIPF Programmes Coordinator Jay Lim, this session will explore over 70 photobooks made by Singaporeans from the early 2000s to the present, examining why artists have increasingly chosen the book form to present photographs. The conversation explores why Singaporean artists have increasingly turned to the book format to present photographic work, touching on how the reading, understanding, and possibilities of an image change with its presentation. In this digital era where screens and AI have proliferated the ways we view images, the dialogue will also consider the relevance and future of photobooks in Singapore.
