On March 18, 2014, a group of students dissatisfied with the government occupied the Legislative Yuan. The movement was a powerful display of grassroots mobilization, harnessing the potential of citizen technologies like live streaming and online collaboration. This unprecedented use of digital tools transformed how protests were organized and amplified. Regardless of individual viewpoints, the event marked a turning point, igniting a new era of active political engagement among Taiwanese citizens.
To preserve this pivotal moment, designer and photographer Chen Xiaogang launched a crowdfunding campaign to gather photos from participants. By uniting the community, he compiled these images into a book, creating a lasting record of the movement.
