This book is the exhibition catalog for Line of Vision-The Photography of Wang Hsin held at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum in 2016, showcasing 14 representative themes and series from Wang Hsin’s various stages since the 1970s. It also includes eight articles published by her between 1985 and 2012 in Women’s Magazine and on her personal blog, providing a comprehensive view of Wang Hsin’s perspectives on the spirituality, values, and ethics of photojournalism.

Artist Biography:
Born in 1941 in Lukang and raised in Taichung, Wang Hsin graduated from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine at Pingtung Agricultural College in 1964. She later shifted to photography after graduating from the Department of Animal Science at Tokyo University of Agriculture in 1970. Wang completed her studies at the Department of Commercial Photography at the Tokyo College of Photography in 1972, dedicating herself to photojournalism. After gaining attention for her A Trip to Wushe series in Taiwan and Japan in 1974, she pursued photojournalism further. Between 1974 and 1975, she photographed the Farewell, Orchid Island series, which was published as a photography collection in 1985.
Wang emphasizes the narrative nature of visual language, using imagery to present diverse cultural perspectives and the humanity embedded within them.
