This photography collection features the work of Taiwan’s significant photographer Chang Chao-Tang, spanning half a century of image creation. Divided into four periods: 1959-1961, 1962-1964,1973-1985, and 1986-2005, Moments in Time presents Chang’s photographic work at different stages, reflecting his life experiences and allowing each photo to testify to the passage of time while simultaneously reflecting the present landscape.

Artist Biography:
Chang Chao-Tang (1943-2024) was a significant Taiwanese photographer, born in Banqiao. He studied photography under Cheng Shang-Hsi and his creations spanned static photography, film, and television. Chang devoted himself to image writing, curating, and education for many years. His early work was influenced by modernist thought, blending literature, art, and theater with avant-garde experimental concepts. Later, he entered the news industry, participating in the filming of several documentary features and films.
Chang’s long-term contributions and achievements in art, audiovisual documentation, and education earned him numerous awards, including the National Award for Arts (1999), the National Cultural Award (2011), the Golden Horse Awards Lifetime Achievement Award (2022), and the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Taiwan International Documentary Festival (2024).
