The series comments on the human perception of nature. The pictures are ordered alphabetically by a method adopted from Peter Greenaway’s movies. It enforces equal attention to the diverse aspects of the discourse on Nature, and the contemporary social understanding of what is Nature and “natural”. The photographer combined her works with appropriated materials produced by institutions for which Nature belongs to official agenda.

About the Artist
Agáta Marzecová, born 1981 in Slovakia, is currently based in Estonia. She merges her photography works with her studies in nature science. Her documentary series Project Precarious portrays the lives of the newly emerging European social class of creative workers, the so-called ‘Precariat’, and critically responds to the idea of photographic documentary. This series was presented during the Asian-European Emerging Photographers Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2009 and as a solo exhibition in the Hobusepea Gallery in Tallinn, Estonia in February 2010. Marzecová is currently, continuing her work on the series Facts and Figures which was presented at the exhibition Topographies of an Immediate Present in Photoport Gallery in Bratislava, Slovakia in 2009. Her latest work Natural Catalogue (in Alphabetic Order) was short-listed for the Sittcomm Award 2010.
