This series is a genuine attempt to understand the trauma in which prisoners-of-war have experienced during genocides of the past and in wars of contemporary times. Michael Shaoawanasai engages the participation of his audience by inviting them to step into the shoes of victims suffered. In recreating the images of war, he also deliberately raise aware- ness of the past’s atrocities.

About the Artist
Michael Shaowanasai, born in 1964 achieved his Masters of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA in 1994. He is also the creator of “The Adventures of Iron Pussy” and “Artist of The Moments“ series, which has been screening world wide with leading galleries and museums as well as international video and film festivals. Since 2001, he has been residing and working in Bangkok, Thailand.
