“Specimen of Good-byes” (Sayonara no Oshibana) is a conceptual presentation of absences of beings. An image of empty space can only represent its emptiness but not the absence of a specific being’s presence. This series was shot on the ground with live flowers where the subject’s gazes are deliberately unfocused.
