Turn a Deaf Ear is a series of bizarre photographs, but these landscapes are hidden in the shadows of the everyday.

Creator Wang Lan travels with the viewer through the visual labyrinth of the real world, whether on the edge of the city or immersed in the depths of nature. She stops several times to cast her eyes on the mundane or subtle landscapes. Such sensitivity is certainly an adventure, as she perceives the intersection of reality and fantasy, bringing forth profound and even disorienting wonders.

Back to the title of the book, ” Turn a Deaf Ear ” is not an accusation against those who are busy looking for an exit. These works are more like calm visual vortexes, leading us to re-examine the neglected poetry in our daily life, and we are looking forward to being touched by the resonance.

Wang Lan is good at capturing the strange moments in daily life, bringing the profound feeling of reality and fantasy blending.

She has published photography books “Alice” and “Ignore”, and has been selected as a finalist for “The Joy of the Everyday” in 2021 Fuji Exhibition, “Uncooked Chengdu Art Book Fair” in 2022, and “Seoul International Photography Festival” in 2023.
